12-April-10 :  NEW ALBUM - I Remain

The new album is ready to be set free. Recorded through the summer and autumn of 2009 this is a return to a more sparse sounding album like I first explored with Grey Mirrors. This time using multiple loop based systems similar in a way Eno's system based music to generate the basic track before the more melodic elements where produced. This is roughly how I produced the track Carbon Statues. It is available here and from all the usual places now though iTunes and Amazon might take a few more weeks. Some tracks are now on the listern page.

Hope you like it,

Andy

26-Nov-08 : New live dates added

Added a couple of dates for next year to the live section. These are:

  • 13-Jun-09 : Ghost in the machine festival, Swindon.
  • 21-Nov-09 : Awakenings, Burton-on-Trent. Appearing as part of The Jupiter 8.

31-Oct-08 : Awakenings

The Awakenings gig went really well indeed, a great turnout and it was good to be included in a very diverse line up alongside The Edge Effect and Ion. OJ did a sterling job keeping up with me, even when I decided to re-arrange a few tracks on the fly.

A few videos have very kindly been posted on YouTube and I've included links in the live pages, along with some photos.

We have no firm dates to perform again as yet but are working on a few things for the new year. It wo'nt be long before we are playing again as now I have pulled my finger out and got organised enough to do it, I found I quite enjoyed the whole experience. Even the nerves.

31-Oct-08 : Home Without The Journey

The latest studio album from The Glimmer Room, Home Without The Journey, has now been released and, so far, is doing exceptionally well. This album is the result of more than two and a half years of hard work, and I feel that it's my most introspective and personal album to date. I was really aiming for something that sounded a bit loose and fluid compared to rigid feel of Grey Mirrors, and I think I might just have achieved this.

Home Without The Journey is an album of three tracks, which covers a wide range of styles - from the long form electronica of the title track to the tidal ambient washes of Carbon Statues. I'm really quite proud of the way that this album sounds, and how it has evolved through some very dark times, when I nearly wiped the hard drive in frustration. Of course, the ego in me thinks this is the best album yet.

31-Oct-08 : Framework

I also feature on a new compilation I put together for A-frame. This compilation is a collection of tracks from a group of musicians whose music, I feel, really connects. All of the artists where invited to donate tracks and I am pleased to say everyone took up the offer.

The disc is now fully released and available from A-frame. Needless to say, if you like what I have done with the glimmer room so far you might just like a good few of the tracks included on Framework because I love them.

31-Oct-08 : New website launched

Special thanks to David Hughes at Infection Media for revamping the whole Glimmer Room website, with more up-to-date content and a slick, organised feel.
